When is the last time you’ve been inside of an actual bank? I know…
For most of us, there’s no need anymore. We can transfer funds via an app. Deposit checks with a snap. If you even receive a paper check anymore, that is.
The thought of walking into a bank and waiting in line to withdraw funds is an idea of days gone past. As they probably should be.
But this might leave you feeling disconnected.
Where do you go when you have a question? Who can you talk to for advice on your immediate situation?
According to an American Psychological Association survey, 72% of Americans say they’ve felt stressed about money at some point in the last month with as many as 50% so stressed out they admitted to not being able to sleep.
We’ve adopted the convenience of banking on the go, but sacrificed the personal touch in the process.
Should banking come with a personal touch. Capital One says yes and that’s why they are reimagining banking.
Capital One Cafés are opening in multiple cities across the US in 2017. These will be neighborhood hubs where people can work, hang out or bank. To introduce the cafes, Capital One is sponsoring a ten-city tour starting. The tour rolls into Chicago March 4 & 5.
I love the cafes because they create a community feel. You can plug up and check in, grab a treat from Peet’s, or organize a larger gathering at one of the community conferences. The booking can be down all online.
Capital One’s Banking Reimagined Tour will introduce the city to the innovative services and programs designed to get people thinking and talking about personal finance in a new and engaging way.
When you visit a tour stop, you’ll be invited to go through a 20-minute, interactive session that will help uncover the financial behaviors that best match your value system. This will help you start to understand the role their personal finances can play in enhancing your life.
It’s time to rethink the cold, impersonal, strictly online banking experience. After the tour, you can hang out in the 54 foot interactive trailer and play with:
- Advanced Interactive Touchscreens –9 Multi-Taction Touchscreens spanning 22’ wide and 5’ tall that allow up to three people to interactively scroll through values and goals, giving them an understanding of how their outlook shapes the way they view their money
- HoloLens Augmented Reality – a cutting-edge technology that lets people interact with 3D holographic imagery in real space and time, bringing their financial goals to life
- Video Selfie Booths – participants can record a message for their future selves with the knowledge they’ve gained from the experience
The tour rolls through Chicago on March 4 & 5 from 10am – 5pm both days. Stop in. Chat with a money coach and find out where the Capital One Cafes are opening. Maybe this can be your new watering hole.
I’ll be on site Sunday from 2-5pm taking a tour myself and recording a podcast about the experience. If you’re around come hangout. Maybe I can use your feedback on the show.
If you’re not in Chicago, check out the Capital One #BankingReimagined tour schedule to see if there’s a remaining stop in a city near you.
